Suspect Wanted in Counterfeiting Case Arrested at Border

In Brownsville, Texas, a Cuban native wanted for counterfeiting was detained at the U.S. border by agents with Customs and Protection. Authorities say that the man, S.L.G., was caught after he counterfeited U.S. currency and even though he is a Cuban citizen, he resides in Harlingen, Texas. Prior to his detainment, an arrest warrant was issued in his name for the alleged white collar crimes he committed. News sources say that 49-year-old S.L.G. was identified by a Border Patrol agent who was working pedestrian enforcement operations near the Gateway International Bridge.

When the agent came in contact with S.L.G., his inquiries revealed that the man before him had an active arrest warrant and a secondary check of his identification verified the outstanding court order. S.L.G. was arrested and then turned over to the U.S. Marshals Service. He is currently awaiting extradition to Miami, Florida. Have you been accused of a white collar offense?
