Recently, Texas police were sent on a wild chase in pursuit of two pick-up trucks that were packed with illegal immigrants crossing the south border. According to KHOU, the vehicles both crashed while being chased. One was a Dodge pickup, heading out on the freeway. The owner of the car called 911 to report the theft. Police identified the car by license plate at an intersection in Bay City and turned on their lights and sirens. This signaled the driver to step on the gas, and the stolen Dodge went screeching onto the road. The police chased the car and soon noticed a Ford F150 that was following their suspect.
The police continued to follow the two trucks onto the Highway 60. Eventually, the diver of the Ford F150 lost control and spun into the median on the Highway. 16 people were wedged inside the truck, and four were taken to the hospital to be treated for injuries. Ten of the people inside the small vehicle were arrested and taken to jail on suspect of illegal immigration. Two of the cars occupant’s managed to escape. As of now, they are not in custody. While some officers dealt with the wreck, others chased the Dodge truck into Wharton County. Eventually, the driver of this car also lost control of the vehicle and crashed. 12 immigrants spilled out of the truck and scattered in a matter of seconds.
Investigators were not able to arrest any of the immigrants that were in the Dodge. As of late, all of them have vanished and were not detected. Both vehicles were reported stolen by residents of Farris County, Texas. The investigators are almost certain that every person in the vehicles was an illegal immigrant trying to find refuge in the country.
