Guns Might Be Allowed On College Campuses If New Law Passes

Currently, Texas colleges and universities are weapons-free zones. State Senator Jeff Wentworth, however, has proposed a bill which would allow the carrying of concealed weapons on college campuses, so long as he or she has a permit to do so. As of right now, more than 80 of the 150 members of the House of Representatives have signed on as co-authors of the bill. If the bill passes, it will allow guns in previously restricted areas such as dorm rooms and class buildings.

However, not everyone will be eligible to have a concealed handgun license. In order to obtain your concealed handgun license, you must meet certain criteria. If you do carry a firearm without the proper license, then you can be charged with the offense of unlawful possession of a firearm. If you have been arrested for this offense, or any other weapons related charges, then contact a Plano weapons charge attorney, today. Our attorneys have a substantial amount of experience related to weapons charges.
