Fourth Amendment Protest Against TSA By Student
A University of Cincinnati student on his way to his grandfather's funeral decided to opt out of a search by TSA's new x-ray machines and asked for a pat-down, instead. he then proceeded to strip down and revealed a portion of the Fourth Amendment written in marker on his chest. Written on his chest were the famous words "The right of the people to be secure . . . against unreasonable searches and seizures, shall not be violated . . . ."
Many have hailed this young man as a hero or as a publicity hound. Regardless, he did illustrate that the Fourth Amendment is alive and protects individuals--it is not words on a dusty, old irrelevant document. He is currently suing the TSA for false imprisonment and for violating his Fourth Amendment protection.
