Federal Sex Offender List

Texas is engaged in a battle with the federal government regarding the Adam Walsh Act. This a federal law aimed at creating a national sex offender registry.  The federal law will divide those convicted of crimes into three categories and has a different registration length and renewal for each category.

Under current Texas law, depending on the crime of which the person is convicted, a convicted sex offender can be forced to register for a period of ten years, or even for life. The federal law would require Texas to change its system regarding the offenses that would require registration.

If you are facing charges that could require you to register as a sexual offender, contact a Collin County Criminal Defense Attorney as soon as possible.  These charges are some of the most serious charges that a person can face.  It is imperative that you hire a qualified attorney who is experienced in fighting these charges.   Contact a Plano Criminal Defense Lawyer immediately.
