Most Wanted Sex Offender Captured
Timothy Rosales Jr., 39, was convicted in 1985 of two counts of aggravated sexual assault and sentenced to twenty-five years in prison. In January, Rosales was staying at a halfway house when he fled (he was on a electronic monitoring device). He was wanted for parole violations and a civil commitment violation.
Sexual assault charges are some of the most serious crimes with which the State of Texas can charge a person. Sexual assault occurs when a person commits forced, nonconsensual, or unwanted sexual contact. This is a
second degree offense.
The offense becomes
aggravated sexual assault if the person causes serious bodily injury, threatens or places the person in fear of serious bodily injury, uses a deadly weapon, uses a drug to facilitate the crime, or the victim is under 14 years older or over 65 years of age. In that scenario, the offense then becomes a
first degree felony.
