Investigators believe an off-duty Plano officer was drunk when he ran a red light and collided with a patrol car driven by an on-duty officer last week, according to the accident report below.

Officer Ray Arthur Wildes, 37, faces a charge of intoxication assault in the early Friday morning accident at Legacy Drive and Central Expressway, the report said. Officer Kenneth W. Foale, 29, was driving the marked patrol car northbound on the Central Expressway service road when his vehicle was hit, the report said.

Both officers were hospitalized for their injuries. Wildes remained in the hospital Tuesday night, police said.

Wildes "had an odor of an alcoholic beverage coming from his breath and was intoxicated," the report said. He was also speeding at the time of the accident, the report said. Click here to view the DWI Accident Report.

Police said the investigation is ongoing. Wildes has been with the department for six years. Foale has been with the department for two years.
