In Brownsville, Texas, a Cuban native wanted for counterfeiting was detained at the U.S. border by agents with Customs and Protection. Authorities say that the man, S.L.G., was caught after he counterfeited U.S. currency and even though he is a Cuban citizen, he resides in Harlingen, Texas. Prior to his detainment, an arrest warrant was issued in his name for the alleged white collar crimes he committed. News sources say that 49-year-old S.L.G. was identified by a Border Patrol agent who was working pedestrian enforcement operations near the Gateway International Bridge.

When the agent came in contact with S.L.G., his inquiries revealed that the man before him had an active arrest warrant and a secondary check of his identification verified the outstanding court order. S.L.G. was arrested and then turned over to the U.S. Marshals Service. He is currently awaiting extradition to Miami, Florida. Have you been accused of a white collar offense? If so, you may have charges filed against you that will impact the quality of your life for years to come if you are convicted.

One suspect made it all the way to eastern Texas from Georgia before being caught by the authorities. The husband of a lawyer that was shot multiple times is now in custody on several charges including injury with intent to murder. The victim, A.P., was found shot eight times in her home in Sandy Springs. Three of the shots sustained were to her head. Although she is still alive, the victim is in critical condition and has been unable to speak with the investigators. At this time, the police are still trying to establish a motive for her murder. However, based on their investigation, the detectives have pinpointed her husband, M.P., as their primary suspect. He is facing charges of aggravated battery and
assault, giving false statements in writing and
possession of a firearm during commission of a felony.

M.P. was detained during a traffic stop in Van Zandt County. When the Texan officers ran his information, they found that there were multiple warrants out for his arrest from Georgia. M.P. is currently being held in a Van Zandt jail until he can be extradited back to the state of Georgia.

Police were able to catch up with one woman after she took to a social media website bragging about her warrant. Thanks to her post on Twitter, police were able to obtain the information they needed to locate and detain her. Earlier this month M.P.M. bragged about having a warrant in Pearland, Texas, and claimed that the police would never find her. Someone saw that tweet and showed it to an officer with the Pearland Police Department. When the police looked into her background, they found that she had four municipal traffic warrants, and that her sister had an outstanding warrant as well.

Officers' investigative work revealed that the Tweeting sister was currently a student at Lamar University. Working with campus police, the Pearland Department was able to detain and arrest M.P.M. When they spoke with her, they learned that she had actually used her sister's identity during a traffic stop, and was booked into jail under her sister's name. She also signed her sister's name on all of the documents given to her while incarcerated. Have you been arrested for a crime in Plano? If so, take the time to speak with a Plano criminal defense attorney from our office to learn what legal options you have as your case progresses.

A millionaire who experienced his fifteen minutes of fame last year has found himself in trouble with the law. M.A.P. III has been accused of wire fraud, mail fraud and bank fraud by federal prosecutors. He went on the popular TV show "Millionaire Matchmaker" and claimed to own a private jet, mansion and have millions of dollars in the bank. Through his fake company, and with the help of a Tampa-based financial specialist, the CEO was able to obtain several short-term business loans by convincing banks that he had $21 million as collateral. One of the banks with which M.A.P. III was able to obtain a loan from lost $3 million as a result.

Although M.A.P. III was scheduled to go to court, he surprised many by pleading guilty before the trial began. He is expected to receive a sentence of several years in a federal prison for multiple counts of fraud, a white collar crime.

The federal government is working overtime to catch hackers that try to get into confidential databases. One such hacker was detained last week in the state of Texas for not only breaking into a database containing the home addresses and phone numbers of police officers, but then releasing that information to the public. The suspect, 30-year-old H.O. III, first hacked into the Houston County's database to access information about law enforcement agents. He then released material that could only have been obtained from the database to his followers. H.O. III also released a picture a woman, his current girlfriend, holding up a sign mocking law enforcement. The picture largely focused on the sign and her chest.

While H.O. III may have been clever enough to hack into state and federal databases, he did not cover his bases. The Federal Bureau of Investigation was able to use EXIF data attached to the photo to discover where the picture had been taken. This served as a starting point for the investigation. H.O. III now faces multiple federal crime charges for which he could spend years behind bars if convicted.

Two city officials were targeted by a man last year in an attempted murder plot. When they shut down a strip club in Texas, the owner devised a plan to have the two men stopped for good. The owner has since been arrested and now faces multiple charges that could land him years behind bars in a federal prison. The Federal Bureau of Investigation is keeping relatively mum about the murder case. It is known that the suspect, R.W.G., owned a strip club that was shut down in part thanks to the efforts of the two city officials. While neither men, the mayor and an attorney, were actually harmed, the fact that the suspect was actively planning their murders was enough to arrest him.

According to an affidavit released by the FBI, an unidentified person was contacted by the suspect to discuss "formal business." This meeting was likely going to involve R.W.G. agreeing to a contract to have the two men killed. In the meantime, his business was scheduled to remain closed until 2013, after which the city council would have decided whether to issue him another license to operate the business. Are you facing violent crime charges? Now is the time to

In Kentucky, a female teacher is facing charges of first-degree sexual abuse and unlawful use of electronic means to induce a minor to engage in sexual or prohibited acts. Allegedly, 26-year-old S.J., an educator and a cheerleader for the Cincinnati Bengals, was arrested after authorities started an investigation back in November. Following their investigation, S.J. stepped down from her position as a freshman English teacher at a high school, citing "personal reasons."

Now, news sources say that S.J. is not the only one facing criminal charges. Recently, a grand jury issued a federal indictment against S.J.'s mother after she was accused of tampering with physical evidence that was to be used in the case against her daughter. At this time, her mother is refusing to comment. However, the superintendent for the school district where the mother works as a principal told the media that she was placed on administrative leave and is cooperating with police at this time. Arraignments for S.J. and her mother have been scheduled for next Monday. If S.J. is convicted of the sex crimes she is accused of committing, she may have to spend up to five years in jail for each charge.

Two members of the Armed Forces were caught in an undercover investigation by the U.S. Department of Justice. The two men are now in custody on a variety of charges for the murder-for-hire scheme they devised. According to the report issued by the DOJ last week, Sgt. S.W., 28, and former Lt. K.C., 29 were conducting a scheme in which they would kill gang members. Once the rival gang members were killed, the two would then steal their money and cocaine and then sell the drugs on the streets.

The suspects were apprehended when they thought they were meeting with members of the Zeta cartel. In fact, their contacts had already been arrested and the contacts they actually met with were undercover federal agents. Once the two men agreed to the murder plan, the agents revealed their true identities. A third man was involved in the scheme as well but he was fatally shot during the takedown say police. In addition to the murder scheme, one of the men has been accused of dealing military-grade weapons to cartel members.

On Monday, authorities told several news sources that a theft crime suspect had been detained. According to reports, the suspect, 42-year-old M.S., had threatened to detonate nuclear bombs while robbing two banks in Prince George's County. He tried to flee the state, but was caught by the Texas-Mexico border by law enforcement officers. At this time, the bank robber is being held at the Hidalgo County Jail until he can be extradited back to the state of Maryland.

One officer on the case told reporters that when M.S. robbed the banks, he would hand a note to the tellers. The note said that if they did not give him money he would detonate a nuclear bomb. Investigators believe the threats were empty, but M.S. was still able to obtain cash from the banks. At this time, M.S. has been connected to two robberies, but the evidence tying him to the theft crimes has not been made public.

In Houston, Texas, multiple news sources are covering a story involving a young boy that was kidnapped over eight years ago. According to the reports, the boy was taken by his babysitter and may now be returned to his biological parents after being found. The boy, M.M., was placed in short-term foster care after officers arrested the babysitter who allegedly kidnapped him back in 2004. M.M. is reportedly in good health both physically and mentally.

On Monday, the babysitter, 26-year-old K.R.T., was placed under arrest and is now facing kidnapping charges. At this time, she is being detained in jail in San Augustine, Texas which is over 100 miles away from Houston. Right now, M.M. is going through DNA testing. The parents consented to such tests to prove that M.M. is in fact their missing son. Sources say that the three will be reunited after tests are conclusive, but the reunion date has not yet been confirmed. Kidnapping is a felony offense that should never be taken lightly.

Human error is to blame for the accidental early release of a convicted murderer in North Carolina. He has since been captured and sent back to prison by Texas authorities. T.A.W., 31, was transferred to a different county last month for a hearing regarding an outstanding drug charge. When the hearing concluded, someone saw that the 19 days that he had spent in prison satisfied the sentence for the drug hearing. He was released by officials in York County at which point he took off. The mistake has been blamed on his file lacking the information that he was due back in North Carolina to finish serving his murder sentence.

However, someone realized that he was actually serving a 14-year sentence for murder and was not scheduled to be released for many years to come. The convicted murderer was finally tracked down in Texas and arrested by the authorities there. T.A.W. was tied to a June 2009 murder in which a 24-year-old man was shot multiple times. He was found guilty of possession of gun by a felon and second-degree murder in 2011. Have you been accused of committing murder? Now is the time to

aggravated assault. Police say that C.H. came after the boy at around 11:00 p.m. with a knife in hand. When officers arrived at the scene of the crime, they noticed that the victim had a small cut to his right leg, but it was not serious and did not require medical treatment.

Allegedly, C.H. assaulted the boy because he was watching TV and it was too loud. Before he stabbed the victim, C.H. punched the 14-year-old in the face. Police were then called to the residence. Aside from aggravated assault charges, C.H. has also been charged with domestic assault and has had his bond set at $1,500.

After six months of investigation by TCU Campus Police and the Fort Worth Police Department, 17 TCU students were arrested in a campus-wide drug bust. Four of those arrested were members of the football team: Tanner Brock, Devin Johnson, D.J. Yendrey and Tyler Horn.

The six month investigation came about after complaints had come from both students and parents having to do with drug problems on campus. The investigation revealed that several students had been selling drugs such as marijuana, heroin and ecstasy as well as prescription drugs to other individuals.

School chancellor Victor Boschini indicated in a statement that the students who had been involved in criminal drug distribution were expelled immediately.

According to Boschini's statement, this is the largest number of student arrests at one time in Texas Christian University's history. Though many students have already been arrested, officials have indicated that more arrests may be necessary as the investigation continues.

Drug possession and drug distribution charges carry harsh penalties and a conviction can result in jail time, fines and other punishments.
